tesa 51970 is a 220 µm (8.7 mil) transparent double-sided PP film tape with a highly tackified acrylic adhesive — an industrial mounting tape for plastic and wooden trims, transparent signs and scales, point-of-sale displays and decorative materials. It bonds reliably to low-surface-energy plastics such as PP and PE as well as steel, aluminium, ABS, PC, PS, PET and PVC, delivering 13 N/cm (118.8 oz/in) initial adhesion to steel and 8.5 N/cm (77.7 oz/in) to PP, with good shear strength. The transparent film keeps the bond invisible, and the adhesive holds on rough or slightly dirty surfaces while withstanding humidity, UV light and temperatures from -40°C to 80°C long-term, or 130°C for short periods. Available in transparent, 1" and 2" x 55 yd rolls on a certified, responsibly sourced paper liner.
