The aerospace industry's specialized insulation blanket cover splicing tape — engineered for the fabrication and installation of aircraft thermal insulation blankets where fire retardance and durability are mandatory. Used by insulation blanket manufacturers, MRO shops, and airline maintenance teams to seal sewn seams, close fabrication slits, and cover holes around brackets and conduits in aircraft interior installations. E&H 743-BLK is a black polyvinyl fluoride (PVF/Tedlar) film tape with a 10x10 visual scrim reinforcement and a highly fire-retardant acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive. Manufactured by E&H Laminating & Slitting Company — the recognized specialist in aircraft insulation blanket tapes — it passes the FAA Critical Radiant Heat Panel test, FAR Part 25.856(A), FAR Part 25.853 (A or B), and the BSS-7230 12-second vertical burn test. Flame time is 0 seconds with no drips, making it one of the most stringent fire-performance tapes in the insulation blanket market. Shelf life is a minimum of 18 months in cool, dry storage.

Key Features

  • Black polyvinyl fluoride (PVF/Tedlar) film backing — Durable, chemically resistant film used in aircraft insulation blanket covers worldwide
  • 10x10 visual scrim reinforcement — Provides dimensional stability and controlled tear for precise fabrication and field installation
  • Highly fire-retardant acrylic adhesive — 0-second flame time and no drips in 12-second vertical burn testing
  • FAA Critical Radiant Heat Panel pass — Meets the most demanding FAA heat release requirement for aircraft interior materials
  • FAR 25.856(A) and FAR 25.853 compliant — Approved for aircraft thermal/acoustic insulation and interior flammability requirements
  • BSS-7230 12-second vertical burn pass — Boeing Materials Specification for aircraft interior materials
  • 18-month minimum shelf life — Suitable for MRO stockpile and blanket shop storage
