E&H 753-MP (BMS 5-157 Grade A or C) is a dull gray metalized PEEK (polyether ether ketone) pressure sensitive insulation cover splicing tape — engineered for the fabrication of aircraft insulation blanket covers and the installation of insulation blankets. Built on a dull gray metalized PEEK film with a 10x10 visual scrim count and a highly fire-retardant acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive, the 753-MP is purpose-built for sealing sewn seams and closing fabrication slits or holes around brackets, conduits, and other objects after installation. Manufactured by E&H Laminating & Slitting Company — the recognized specialist in aircraft insulation blanket tapes — it meets Boeing BMS 5-157 Rev. K Type I Class 2 or 3 Grade A or C Form I Comp MPEEK, the FAA Critical Radiant Heat Panel test (FAR 25.856(A)), FAR Part 25.853 (A or B), and the Boeing BSS-7230 12-second vertical burn test. Flame time is 0 seconds with no drips, and burn length averages 1.4 inches. Shelf life is a minimum of 18 months in cool, dry storage.
Key Features
- Grade A and C approved — Meets BMS 5-157 Grade A (insulation blanket tape used on BMS8-377 cover film) and Grade C; Grade B is obsolete per Boeing Rev. J, use Grade A
- Dull gray metalized PEEK film backing — Superior high-temperature resistance and durability; distinctive dull gray finish for easy identification during blanket assembly
- 10x10 visual scrim reinforcement — Dimensional stability and controlled tear for precise fabrication and field installation
- Highly fire-retardant acrylic adhesive — 0-second flame time and no drips in 12-second vertical burn testing
- FAA Critical Radiant Heat Panel pass — Meets the demanding FAA heat release requirement for aircraft interior materials
- Broad temperature peel performance — Tested from −65°F through 160°F, including 120°F at 100% RH
- 18-month minimum shelf life — Suitable for MRO stockpile and insulation blanket shop storage
