3M™ 8663/8663DL Polyurethane Protective Tape is an exceptionally tough, abrasion-resistant polyurethane elastomer tape that resists punctures, tearing, abrasion, and erosion. UV-stabilized and built on a long-aging, solvent-resistant acrylic adhesive, it provides a simple, durable method of protecting aircraft surfaces from corrosion, abrasion, and minor impact damage. The 8663DL dual-liner version is the primary choice for aircraft floor covering and corrosion protection per Boeing Service Letters 737-SL-53-034 and 757-SL-53-018.
Designed for high-wear and environmentally exposed aircraft surfaces, its long-aging acrylic adhesive forms a permanent bond protected by an easy-release plastic liner, making it ideal for MRO operations and routine refurbishment where corrosion and abrasion protection are critical. The transparent film allows visual inspection without removal, and its tough elastomer backing resists punctures and erosion without lifting or flagging.
