3M™ Polyurethane Protective Tape 8658DL is a rugged, flame-retardant seam-sealing tape engineered for aircraft wet-area corrosion protection. Built from a tough thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer, it resists abrasion, erosion, scratching, punctures, and impact, while forming an excellent barrier to fluids — the trusted choice for seam sealing aircraft floor panels, lavatories, and galley areas. Its dual-liner construction acts as a built-in installation aid for fast, precise, professional results.
Designed for aircraft lavatory and galley areas, its acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive wets out the surface and forms a strong, lasting bond to aircraft floor panels and composite materials, maintaining bond strength through a wide range of climate and temperature changes. The transparent film allows final validation of proper screw and sealant installation without removal, and its conformable elastomer backing wraps curved and uneven surfaces. Contains no added VOCs and helps deliver up to 90% corrosion reduction as part of the complete 3M™ Aircraft Corrosion Prevention System.
