A premium flame retardant cargo pit duct tape trusted by freight airline operators and aerospace MRO crews worldwide — combining the conformability and crisp hand-tear of a high-performance duct tape with the flame resistance required for use in aircraft cargo compartments. Tested and proven compliant with FAR 25.853(a)(1)(i) and approved to additional OEM specifications including DMS 1968E, Fokker FK05-006 & FK05-113, and Lockheed LCP-86-1226-A. Polyken 225FR is a 12 mil PE-coated cloth tape with a natural rubber-based adhesive engineered for cargo pit applications, seaming and repairing cargo compartment liner panels, covering pins and rivets, and patching, sealing, and bundling in challenging environments where high adhesion and flame resistance are critical. Its Deca-BDE free formulation meets environmental requirements while delivering moisture, solvent, and abrasion resistance. The tape tears cleanly by hand with a crisp, straight edge — no tools needed in the cargo compartment.

Key Features

  • FAR 25.853(a)(1)(i) compliant — Tested and approved for use in aircraft cargo compartments
  • PE-coated cloth backing — High tensile strength for difficult applications; extremely conformable to irregular cargo compartment surfaces
  • Crisp, straight hand tear — No tools required for fast, efficient cargo pit applications
  • Natural rubber-based adhesive — Aggressive adhesion to all surfaces; resists flagging and lifting under load
  • Moisture, solvent, and abrasion resistant — Built for the demanding cargo compartment environment
  • Deca-BDE free — Environmentally compliant flame retardant formulation
  • Low VOC — Safe for use in enclosed aircraft cargo compartment environments
  • 24-month shelf life — Long shelf life for airline stockpile and depot storage
